Haryana ASI Dies by Suicide, Levels Explosive Allegations Against Late IPS Officer Y Puran Kumar

In a shocking twist to the ongoing investigation into the death of IPS officer Y Puran Kumar, a Haryana Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) posted with the Cyber Cell in Rohtak allegedly died by suicide on Tuesday. The deceased, identified as Sandeep Kumar, left behind a three-page suicide note and a video message accusing the late IPS officer of corruption and misconduct. His body was found near a tubewell along the Rohtak–Panipat road, police officials confirmed.

In his suicide note, Sandeep Kumar made serious allegations against Y Puran Kumar, who had himself died by suicide on October 7 in Chandigarh. The ASI claimed that the IPS officer was “corrupt” and had “hijacked the system using caste politics.” He further wrote that he feared being implicated in the case but wanted to expose “the corrupt system” before his death. “I am sacrificing my life to demand an impartial probe. This corrupt family should not be spared,” the note read, adding a new layer of controversy to an already sensitive case.

Sources revealed that the ASI was part of the team investigating the case involving Sushil Kumar, the gunman of IPS officer Y Puran Kumar, though he was not directly leading the probe. The latest suicide has added complexity to the ongoing investigation into the 52-year-old IPS officer’s death, who was found dead at his Chandigarh residence on October 7. Kumar had named eight senior police officers in his own suicide note, accusing them of harassment and caste-based discrimination. Rohtak SP Surendra Singh Bhoria described Sandeep Kumar as “an honest and hardworking officer,” confirming that a forensic team has begun an inquiry into the incident.
