Saudi Arabia’s Transport General Authority (TGA) has announced stringent measures to curb unauthorized transport services across the Kingdom. In a statement issued on Monday, September 22, officials confirmed that individuals operating without proper licenses or calling out passengers on the roads will face heavy fines under the Road Transport Law. The move is part of broader efforts to regulate the sector and ensure passenger safety by discouraging illegal operators.

To enforce the new regulations, the TGA has deployed round-the-clock inspection teams in regions identified as hotspots for such violations. Depending on the severity of the offense, vehicles involved may even be seized for a period of up to 60 days. These penalties are aimed at deterring repeat violations and establishing a strong culture of compliance with Saudi Arabia’s transport laws.

Authorities emphasized that licensed operators remain the only legally recognized service providers and urged the public to avoid using unauthorized vehicles.
