65 Palestinians Killed, 100 Injured in Relentless Israeli Strikes on Gaza During Eid al-Adha

Gaza: On the second day of Eid al-Adha, Israeli forces escalated their offensive in Gaza, killing at least 65 Palestinians and injuring over 100 more in a series of air strikes, shelling, and drone attacks. The deadliest strike was reported in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City, where Israeli warplanes bombed a residential home, killing 15 people including six children. Rescue teams believe the toll could rise above 30 as many victims are still feared trapped under the rubble. Friday, the first day of Eid, saw the deaths of 33 Palestinians in similar attacks.

The southern city of Khan Younis bore the brunt of Israeli shelling, where 12 people, including four members of a single family, were killed while sheltering in tents. Another drone strike in Bani Suheila claimed six lives, while yet another attack in the al-Amal neighborhood left one person dead. In Gaza City, a house sheltering displaced people was bombed, killing seven. Two civilians lost their lives to artillery shelling in the Al-Saftawi area, and several more were injured. Further north, eight civilians were killed in the Jabalia al-Nazla area, and two others died in an airstrike on the al-Faluja district.

Israeli attacks also targeted civilians near aid distribution centers in Rafah, where six Palestinians were shot dead by Israeli forces, raising the total number of those killed while trying to access aid to 115 since May 27. More than 580 have been wounded in this period, and at least nine people remain missing. The relentless bombardment, especially during a sacred Islamic holiday, has drawn global condemnation as rescue operations continue under immense difficulty in densely populated and already devastated zones of Gaza.
